Utah Trip-Midway

In July we headed up to Utah.  The first few days of the trip were spent at my sister Debbie's vacation condo at the Zermatt resort in Midway.

We made sure to get to North Phoenix while it was still happy hour so we could get yummy Sonic slushies

Yep we brought sandwich fixings and made some up for dinner.

We always stop at the Jacob Lake Inn for a rest and COOKIES!!  They are famous for them and wow do we love them!

That night we stopped in Hurricane to sleep then got up the next morning and headed to Midway.

It was the 24th of July so the family met at Deer Creek and had fun floating and playing with Lynn and Debbie's Seadoos.

David and ShayLynn pulled the girls around on floaties

 Cyrena took rides with Lynn

Evan wasn't so sure about all these new faces around...

 Makes me laugh!

There is a beautiful little stream and grassy area right outside the door of the condo.  The kids find all kinds of creatures in the stream.

These 4 are joined at the hip when they are together.  They have a blast and we love watching them.  There's lots of squeals and giggles.

Evan finally let a few people hold him.  Here he is with beautiful cousin Elise

I think he got wet playing in the sprinkler??  He had fun exploring.

Elise is a great ring leader and role model for her little girl cousins.  We are so grateful to have her!

My sister Debbie and my brother Jeff

My brother Chad and his wife ShayLynn

My brother Scott is always good for a laugh so he made sure to give me a great face in this picture.

At the resort there is a life sized chess/checker board.  We didn't last too long, it was too hot to play.

There is a fun carousel that we got to ride on twice!

And baby goats to ooh and ahh over.  Naomi was exploring with us

We wore Anna out and she cuddled up to Aunt Teresa and fell right asleep.

Of course Natalie found trees to climb.

We walked over to the Homestead resort across the street and explored there also.

We walked up these huge steps to look down into The Crater hot spring.

Right here the girls are standing on the grate that looks right down into the crater

Midway is a beautiful place and we love visiting there!

July Days

We have had such a great summer.  June was great with lots of swimming and playing.  The fun continued in July.

One night I caught Anna meticulously brushing her hair...and now Evan has taken up the habit
I put an old crib mattress on the floor so the girls could have a reading spot.  Sometimes in the morning we find that Anna slept there overnight.

Anna has caught onto my obsession with fresh pineapple.

Anna completed a ballet "Fairy Camp" at the studio where Natalie attends.  Her friend Kensie did it with her--they were adorable!

On Studio C there is a skit where they have a 'shoulder angel' that climbs up people to help them make good choices.  Natalie always want to reenact it with David.

Evan was miserable and had a high fever for 3 days then BOOM a rash on his face and torso= Roseola

We continued swimming often.  Here we are at the Campbell's pool!  We love Kensie and Nora!  Here the girls are all jumping in together--too cute.

Anna got glasses!  She was bumping into walls/corners and we figured she would need something.  So we are giving them a try.

Evan has discovered the joy that comes from exploring the pots and pans cupboard.

One of Cyrena's summer goals was to learn how to braid hair.  Unfortunately we chopped Natalie's hair off before Cyrena completed this goal.  Therefore she had to learn on temperamental Anna.  It came out alright!

We love our pirate days...

Looks like they've captured a commoner!  That pirate in the back cannot hide her glee.

The night before we left for Utah I trimmed Evan's bangs and took a tiny bit off the back.  There is no way I am touching those curls!

Life as we know it is full of laughter, fun, stress, love, faith and surprises. What more could we ask for?
